Who we are

VERTX Project Controls is a specialist infrastructure planning and disputes consultancy working with Tier 1 contractors, subcontractors, employers and legal teams across the UK. We do a small number of things to a very high standard: planning and project controls, forensic delay analysis, claims, and expert witness and dispute support.

Why boutique

Being boutique is a choice, and it changes everything about how we work. There’s no leverage model — no junior team learning on your project while a partner signs the cover page. Commissions are led personally by our founding director, supported by an established delivery team for programme production and analysis. You get senior judgement on every deliverable, direct answers to direct questions, and a consultancy that knows your project as well as you do.

Our director

VERTX was founded by Sumit Bhattacharya, MAPM, a planning and project controls specialist with more than 25 years of experience on infrastructure projects in the UK and abroad, across highways, rail and HS2, bridges, nuclear, energy and utilities. As a qualified civil engineer, he spent several years working on site before specialising in planning, so his programmes and delay analysis reflect how work is actually built, not just how it looks in the software. He is currently completing an MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at King’s College London. The course links programme evidence with construction law, which is where most delay disputes are won or lost.
