Vertx Project Controls (“Vertx”, “we”, “us”) is a boutique infrastructure planning and disputes consultancy. Registered in England, company number 09766551. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@vertxprojectcontrols.co.uk.
What we collect
When you use our contact form or email us, we collect the information you provide: your name, company or firm, email address, phone number, the nature of your enquiry, and the content of your message. We do not collect any special category data through this website, and we ask that you do not include sensitive personal information in enquiry messages.
Why we collect it and our lawful basis
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, to carry out conflict checks before accepting dispute-related instructions, to provide and administer our services, and to maintain records of our professional engagements. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are: our legitimate interests in operating and promoting our consultancy and responding to enquiries; the performance of a contract (or steps taken at your request before entering one); and compliance with legal obligations that apply to our records.
Confidential and privileged enquiries
Dispute-related enquiries are treated as confidential. Where an enquiry is made in contemplation of legal proceedings, information you share may also be subject to legal privilege. We run conflict checks before receiving detailed case information.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — our website hosting provider (Hostinger) and our email service — and, where relevant to an engagement, with professional advisers or as required by law. Our service providers process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are retained for up to two years, in part to support ongoing conflict checking. Records relating to professional engagements are retained for six years after the engagement ends, in line with contractual limitation periods, after which they are securely deleted.
Cookies
This website uses only the minimal cookies necessary for it to function. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers. Our contact page includes an embedded Google Map, which loads only if you accept functional cookies via our consent banner; when loaded, Google may set cookies. If we introduce analytics in future, this policy will be updated first.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection in relation to your personal data. To exercise any of these, email info@vertxprojectcontrols.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
